2017: Session 1:
First steps to your own VA business

This session will act as a starting point for anyone interested in starting their own Virtual Assistant business.  It may be that you are looking for a new career, or that you are looking for something that can be done part-time alongside your current employment or family commitments.  Maybe you’ve just been made redundant or approaching retirement age and are considering setting up as a VA and wondering whether there is a place for you in the market place.  In this session,  Amanda wants to give you the answers to the common questions most new VAs have; she will cover everything from the research to do, the business structure to create, the legalities around setting up as a VA through to the the services to offer, how to get the clients, the fees to charge, how to get paid and everything else in between.

Amanda Johnson is a Virtual Assistant Coach, Trainer and Mentor – She describes herself as all 3 because there is a time and a place for each specific skill set and she is passionate about inspiring, challenging and supporting people who want to not only be a great VA but also have an “awesome” VA business.  Having launched her own successful VA business after retirement from the Royal Navy, within 18 months was Runner Up in the VA of The Year Awards 2014 – Southern Region.  Amanda is a firm believe in that in order to understand the industry she needed to be involved  at the grass roots level in order to be able to train new VAs and not only know the issues they are facing but understand the full impact on them and their business.  The success Amanda achieves is down to hard work and her core values which underpin everything she does in business – authenticity, commitment, open and clear communication, honesty, loyalty and integrity.  This is how Amanda describes what she does:  “I’m passionate about creating exceptional VA’s – I am at my happiest when I am inspiring, challenging and supporting others” (and there might be a bit of xxx kicking in there too).
